‘I Quit’ Match for the WWE Championship
Batista vs. John Cena
The Detroit fans give Cena a great ovation as the fans don’t give Batista the best of ovations during his introduction. The match takes a minute or two to get started as the referee is handed a microphone for this ‘I Quit’ match. Batista snatches the mic upon the bell ringing and offers Cena the chance to say ‘I Quit’ before he puts him in a ‘world of pain’. The ref asks Cena who then takes his time, but then says ‘I don’t think so’ and bops Batista with the microphone as the Animal then drops to the outside. Cena chases, grabs a chair, swings for Batista but misses. Batista gets back in the ring and manages to catch Cena off guard as he climbs in. The familiar chant sounds; ‘Lets Go Cena’ – ‘Cena Sucks!’ Both superstars then wrestle it out as the commentary team tell of how both these competitor’s won their first World Title’s on the very same night at WrestleMania 21. Batista is on top and twice the ref has to ask if Cena quits, to which Cena says no. More chants of the pro/anti Cena audience. Batista whips Cena into the far corner but Cena uses it for momentum, goes against the ropes, ducks a clothesline, goes against the opposite ropes and then a shoulder barge. Batista gets up and another shoulder barge. Then the side spinning suplex and the Five-Knuckle Shuffle! Cena sets up and Attitude Adjustment, Batista reverses and then locks Cena into that ‘new’ hold of his. (Rings of Saturn). Cena twice says no to quitting. The tide turns and an STF! Batista passes out and Cena then goes to ringside to get a bottle of water. He pours it on The Animal who then wakes up. The ref asks, but no quit in Batista at this time. Batista then hits a spinebuster. Then a huge Batista Bomb! The ref asks, but again John Cena does not quit.
Batista goes to ringside to take apart both commentary tables. He drags Cena out the ring and takes him onto one table and sets him up for the Batista Bomb. Cena drops down to get Batista up for an Attitude Adjustment and then Batista reverses to pick Cena up for a running powerslam from one table onto and through another! Cena doesn’t Quit and then Batista takes John Cena ‘into the WWE Universe’ and up the stairs into the crowd.
Batista has Cena up in the middle of the fans above an exit for the fans. Batista gives Cena the chance to Quit, but Cena says no. The Animal goes for the Batista Bomb, but Cena reverses and Batista goes over the barrier, on the edge of the fans’ exit and then is knocked off by Cena for Batista to fall onto a gathering of security. Batista says he doesn’t Quit and makes his way back down the stairs with Cena following. They go toward the ramp-way and toward the parked cars. Cena is then battered by a number of chair shots to the back of John Cena. Again Cena refuses to quit. Batista then gets into the red and black Plymouth to start the car and reverse it toward a decked John Cena. Cena though is okay as Batista missed John Cena. Cena then gets Batista out the car and hits an Attitude Adjustment onto the hood of the car! Batista doesn’t Quit. Cena says ‘I was hoping you would say that’ and then he takes Batista on the roof of the vehicle! Takes him up for and Attitude Adjustment! Batista then screams ‘I Quit’ ‘I Quit’ and Cena wins the match…
Winner John Cena…
But Cena then hits Batista with an Attitude Adjustment anyway and Batista flips off the top of the car and through the floor of the stage!
Cena celebrates as the crowd go wild!
Cena collects his Title and celebrates with a select few members of the crowd. As he goes to exit he raises the Belt as he normally does in tune to the ‘abbadoooo’ in his theme song, but then we see a figure behind him, it’s Sheamus! Sheamus runs toward Cena and kicks him in the teeth! Cena’s music cuts out and we hear boo’s for Sheamus as WWE’s Over The Limit ends with Sheamus roaring toward the Detroit audience.
